WHAT WE DO
At KFTGhana, we are committed to empowering women and girls in Ghana's central region through vocational training and entrepreneurship. Our programs are designed to provide them with the skills and resources they need to create sustainable livelihoods and become self-reliant. Here's a closer look at what we do.
Fashion and Sewing
Our fashion and sewing program teaches women and girls how to design and create clothing and
accessories. Participants learn various sewing techniques, pattern-making, and garment
construction, as well as the basics of fashion design. Through this program, they gain the skills
needed to start their own tailoring businesses or find employment in the fashion industry.
Our baking program offers hands-on training in the art of making pastries, birthday cakes, wedding
cakes and other baked goods. Participants learn how to measure ingredients, mix batters, and bake
a variety of treats. They also receive instruction on food safety, kitchen hygiene, and business
management. This program equips them with the skills to start their own baking businesses or work
in commercial kitchens.
Our bead making program teaches women and girls how to create beautiful, handmade jewelry
using beads and other materials. Participants learn various beading techniques, including stringing,
weaving, and wirework. They also learn how to design and craft unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. This
program helps them develop their creativity and entrepreneurial skills, and provides them with a
way to generate income.
Cosmetology and Hairdressing
Our cosmetology and hairdressing program provides training in the latest beauty and haircare
techniques. Participants learn how to cut, color, and style hair, as well as how to provide other
beauty services such as makup artistry, facials, manicures, and pedicures. They also receive
instruction on salon management, customer service, and business ethics. This program prepares
them for careers in the beauty industry.
KFTGhana offers mentorship programs to provide women and girls with guidance, support, and
encouragement as they navigate their vocational training and entrepreneurship journey. Participants
are paired with experienced mentors who share their knowledge, offer advice, and help them
overcome obstacles. Through these programs, we aim to build confidence, foster a sense of
community, and empower participants to achieve their goals
Our entrepreneurship training programs are designed to help participants develop the skills and knowledge needed to start and manage their own businesses. They receive instruction on business planning, marketing, financial management, and customer service. Through these programs, we equip them with the tools they need to create successful, sustainable livelihoods and become economically independent.
